During that time Garrett was instrumental in the branding of Greyhouse Coffee, Matchbox Co-working, WBAA, as well as working with Purdue University and other local businesses. Today, Raygun Workshop provides brand consulting, design, web, UI/UX and space-making services for industries such as lifestyle brands, startups, tech, hospitality, agriculture, non-profit initiates and for-purpose businesses. Garrett digs talking about the power of a genuine brand, finding meaningful work, battling the challenge of running your own business, increasing your value, and taking risks that accommodate your definition of success."

FREE DAY on Feb. 27!

UPDATE FEB.22:  Thanks to everyone for RSVPing!  The lighting class/demo is now full, as are some of the model slots.  There is still room in the intro class at 11am.  Here are the latest *open* time slots for the models on Saturday:

Sarah: 10am-10:20am
Carolyn: 1:40p-2p
Roberto: 1pm, 1:40p
Maggie: 2:20p, 2:40p-3p

We're hosting a completely free day at the studio on Saturday, Feb. 27th.  That's right: classes, demos, vendor demos, models to practice your portraits with -- everything is free.  The studio side will be open for free shooting from 9am-4pm as well.  We'll even have food and refreshments throughout the day, compliments of HotBox Pizza.  Two short 'classes' will be hosted as well. At the end, we'll close on a really cool Q+A panel with two working pros.  Ask them anything!

Here's what you need to do:

  1. Put it on your calendar and RSVP to our Facebook event.
  2. Contact us to RSVP for any time with models you want to reserve (20 minute slots).
  3. Contact us to RSVP for either of the classes  (limited seating available).
  4. Bring questions about the studio, questions for the pros, and your camera/gear that you want to practice with.   If you're thinking about props -- maybe limit yourself to one small thing.
  5. Spread the word!  Everyone is welcome; this is an all-levels, family-friendly event.

We also added Roberto (above) for the 1-2pm slot.

Thanks again to HotBox for sponsoring our hungry photogs!

MeetUp on Feb.16

The group f/765 - Developing Shooters will gather at Second Level Studios on Tuesday, February 16 from 7:00-9:00pm for our inaugural MeetUp.  All photographers, both novice and professional are welcome to join us for an evening of getting to know one another and sharing ideas.

At 8pm we will have a couple seasoned professional photographers on a Q+A panel, to answer any questions you have about photography... or the business side.  We have local pros Michael Dick and John Underwood joining us for this one.  Michael is a senior-level photog at ISPhotographic on Main Street, and John --aside from shooting for Purdue-- has been in his own studio on the square for decades.  Bring your questions!

Join the Facebook group if you haven't already!  See description below:

"The f/765 Developing group will include those who are learning photography and/or are pursuing it as a hobby.  The focus on this group will be on learning the craft of photography (both technical and artistic).  Meet Up topics will include, but not be limited to, understanding the different pieces of the exposure triangle and other technical pieces of the photo pie, how to set up a gallery to share your work, equipment questions, basics of off-camera lighting, posing, and questions surrounding establishing a photography business. This is just the tip of the iceberg—there will be soooooo many questions and so many answers.  Learning together people;  it will be awesome.  Seasoned Shooters will share with the group at several different times including topic leading at MeetUps and specific timed topic-driven discussions online.  The MeetUps for this group will be on the third Tuesday of each month."
